Week 38: athletes can now see their own GPS sessions

The headline this week is athlete GPS sharing: each linked athlete can open their own sessions in the mobile app. We have not seen other platforms do this, and we are betting it changes how engaged your squad feels day to day. Volleyball clubs on Vert also get jumps per minute, and GPS import now asks for units when a file header is ambiguous.

Most performance tools keep GPS on the coach side. Fractall now lets you share each athlete's own data back to them in the mobile app (only their sessions).

We built this because athletes who can see their own numbers tend to stay more motivated and push harder in training. It also gives wellness check-ins and session RPE more weight: when an athlete is already looking at their load and personal records in the app, the daily surveys feel like part of the same picture.

You stay in control. Open the gear on the GPS dashboard, go to the Sharing tab, and turn on Share GPS with athletes. When it is on, linked athletes see their latest activity on the home screen.

If you use Vert for volleyball, after an import the dashboard and session detail show jumps per minute alongside session totals. Open a session chart and the purple line is the rate for each athlete.

Sometimes a column maps correctly but the session cards stay empty, usually, for example, because the CSV header does not say whether Total Time is in minutes or seconds, or whether Distance is in metres or kilometres.

When you import GPS, each mapped metric now has a Unit dropdown. Pick the unit your csv uses. If the header already includes it, like Max Velocity (km/h), we fill that in for you. Import will not proceed until every mapped distance, speed, and duration column has a unit set.
