What is a body pain map for athletes?

A body pain map lets athletes tap where they hurt on an anatomical diagram of muscles and joints, then rate each area from 1 to 5. Coaches see which areas light up across the squad before training starts.

Squad body pain check-ins

Athletes tap the map, set pain level 1–5, and add a short note. You get a squad-wide read of which regions need follow-up before warm-up.

  1. Step 1

    Mark pain by area

Switch between muscles and joints, tap each sore area on the front or back of the body, and rate it from 1 to 5.

  2. Step 2

    Review flagged regions

Focus on today's high-intensity marks. Severe pain (4–5) surfaces first so you can talk with athletes before training.

  3. Step 3

    Read the squad heatmap

When the same region appears across several athletes, it often points at the session, not one player. Use the heatmap to spot patterns.

7-day persistence flags

Fractall weighs how often a region was reported over the past week, not just today's number. Repeated moderate pain can escalate concern even when intensity stays at 3.

Pre-injury body pain context

When you log an injury, Fractall attaches the body pain that athlete reported in the seven days before, aggregated by region.

Body pain map FAQ

What does a body pain map add to wellness monitoring?+

Wellness soreness is one number. A body pain map tells you where it hurts, which side, and what kind of tissue. That helps you decide whether to adjust today's session or refer to the physio.

What scale does this body pain map use?+

Intensity runs 1 to 5 with labelled steps from minor discomfort to extreme pain, matching the Fractall mobile check-in. Athletes mark muscles on a front and back view or switch to joints, and the side comes from the area they tap.

How do coaches use a squad body pain heatmap?+

The heatmap counts reports for each area on front, back and joint views, and darker colours mean more reports. When several athletes report the same area after the same session, it often signals load or programming rather than an individual problem.

Does a body pain map predict or prevent injury?+

No. A map helps you communicate, triage, and record what athletes reported. It does not diagnose and published evidence does not support injury prediction from pain location alone.

What triggers a concern flag in this demo?+

This demo flags today's marks at intensity 4 or 5. The full Fractall product also weighs 7-day persistence, so repeated moderate pain can raise concern even when today's number is lower.

Is this the same body pain map athletes use in Fractall?+

Yes. The body diagram, the muscle and joint views, the 1 to 5 scale and the notes come from the Fractall app. The full product adds persistence flags, trends, pre-injury context, and unlimited athletes.

Does the demo save my data?+

No. Everything stays in your browser for this session. Sign up for Fractall to store body pain history and share it with your coaching staff.
